Editor overview
The mashnote editor is a flowing rich-text document, not a block editor. You write naturally, and formatting is always one tap away through a minimal floating toolbar.
The note is the hero
Section titled “The note is the hero”Chrome appears only when you need it:
- The formatting toolbar is a floating bar, never a permanent ribbon.
- Search is always at the top, in every view.
- One obvious + New note button is always visible, plus
⌘N/Ctrl+N.
The three-pane layout
Section titled “The three-pane layout”- Left rail — All Notes, Favorites, Notebooks and Tags.
- Note list — title, a one-to-two line snippet and date. Compact, not sparse.
- Editor — the flowing rich text, where you spend your time.
Keyboard-first
Section titled “Keyboard-first”Everything has a shortcut — ⌘K for the command palette, ⌘P for the quick switcher, ⌘F to search within a note. See Keyboard shortcuts.
What you can write
Section titled “What you can write”Headings, bold, italic, underline and strikethrough; bullet, numbered and checklist lists; quotes, code blocks, inline code and links; and inline images and file attachments. See Formatting & the toolbar.
