What is mashnote?
mashnote is a lean note-taking app in the spirit of early Evernote — clean, focused and fast, deliberately not the bloated all-in-one tools of today. It brings together the things that usually live in a handful of different apps:
- Editor — a flowing rich-text editor (not blocks) with headings, bold and italic, lists, checklists, code blocks, quotes and links.
- Notebooks & tags — the classic way to organise notes, plus an Inbox for anything not yet filed.
- Search — full-text search across every note, with OCR that reads the text inside your photos and PDFs.
- Capture — voice to note, a share sheet, and quick capture from the menu bar or a hotkey.
- Sync — local-first, with background sync across web, desktop and iOS.
- Export — one-click export to Markdown, HTML or ENEX, so you’re never locked in.
